Sue has been with Encompass since 1984 and was named Executive Director in 2008.  She believes that all children deserve quality early education and care and is honored to be leading an agency which has been committed to children and families since 1919.

    
   

 

Eleanor Dockry

When families entrust their children to education and care at Encompass, Eleanor believes that they deserve to expect excellence.  Opportunities for their children's optimal development have to be provided by well-educated, caring staff using superior curriculum in all aspects of programming.  Coming to the agency in 1990 with experience in teaching adults as well as young children, she has guided the seven Encompass sites to grow their staff, program and center leadership and to achieve the current status as nationally recognized programs for children and families.

Missy has been with Encompass since 1994.  She graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and completed the Administrator's Credential in Early Childhood from NWTC.  In 2008, Missy was promoted to Director of Operations for the agency.  Prior to this, she fulfilled the roles of teacher and Center Director at one of our corporate sponsored centers - the Bellin Health Center.  Her current efforts include helping to lead the agency in its mission of providing high quality care and education to children and families.

    
   

Suzy Pfeifer

Through her involvement with the Service League of Green Bay, Suzy began her tenure with Encompass by serving on the Board of Directors in 1989.  She served as Board president from 1992 - 1995.  In 1998, she was hired by Encompass as the Director of Fund Development and Marketing.  Suzy is a graduate of Indiana University and had a career in retail before joining Encompass.

    
   

Candee Hendricks

Candee joined the Encompass team in December of 2002.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from UW-Green Bay.  Candee's main responsibilities at Encompass are the financial reporting and monitoring for the organization.  She is also the supervisor of the Accounting Department.  She truly enjoys being a team member at Encompass and working for an organization that is committed to providing high quality education and care for all children.

 

    
   



Diane Sweney

Diane joined Encompass in November of 2006.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from St. Norbert College and has obtained her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation.  Diane has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, a field she describes as being the perfect blend of administrative work and customer service.  Her responsibilities include providing HR support to Encompass' employees, benefits administration, recruitment and legal compliance issues.  Helping the agency fulfill its mission to provide quality care and education to young children is very challenging, energizing and rewarding.

Diane has been with Encompass since 1985.  She first became interested in pursuing a career in early childhood when she did volunteer work in an elementary school as a senior in high school.  Diane graduated from St. Norbert College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood.  She is a former kindergarten and preschool teacher and finds great joy in guiding the development of young children.  Diane is currently pursuing graduate classes in the Early Childhood and School-Age field.

    
   

Melissa Franken

Melissa joined Encompass in November of 2005 after many years of experience in child care in the Fox Valley.  She graduated from UW-Green Bay with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development.  Melissa enjoys the challenges and opportunities that are presented on a daily basis at Encompass.  Her primary focus is to ensure consistent quality care for the children within the center.  Along with the leadership responsibilities of an Operations Director, Melissa also enjoys working with the children and families at the Bellin Health Center.

    
   

Juliane Alsteen

In 2008, Juliane joined the Encompass family after being 'wowed' by their mission statement, values, and operating principles.  She graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and holds a Pre-K through Grade 3 DPI teaching license as well.  As a Director, Juliane is passionate about providing quality education for the children as well as a sense of family and a network of support for the parents.  As a teacher, Juliane loves to mentor and support the teaching staff while watching them grow.  She is thrilled to be part of an organization that embraces excellence!

Polly has been with Encompass since 1981.  She has worked at many of the Encompass locations as a Teacher, Assistant Director and has been a Center Director since 1984.  Providing quality education and care for young children has been her career mission.  She has found that no other agency offers such high standards for providing quality programming for children and families as Encompass does.  It is the mission of Encompass that has kept her for so many years.

    
   

Amber Curran

Amber graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor's Degree in Education with emphasis in Learning Disabilities, K-9.  She first became involved with early childhood education in 1996 when her first daughter was born.  It was then that Amber realized she could work in a career that she loved and still be with her daughter.  Amber worked as a Teacher for 3 years in a small center and as a Program Director in a larger center for 6 years before coming to Encompass in January of 2005.  She loves being a part of an organization so devoted and driven to provide the best for children.

    
   

 

Jan Gilles

Jan has been with Encompass' Children's Day Out program since 1990, taking over as the Site Coordinator in 1996.  She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education as well as the Wisconsin Professional Credential for Child Care Administrators. Jan is currently pursuing a teaching license at UW-Oshkosh.  Jan's love for teaching is evident as she continues to teach in the Junior Kindergarten program two days a week along with her administrative duties.  Jan's philosophy in working with young children is to allow them a hands-on approach to their development.  She believes that all children are unique and their individual differences need to be embraced and celebrated on a daily basis.

Sue has been with Encompass since 1992.  She graduated from UW-Green Bay with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Psychology.  During Sue's first two years at Encompass, she taught in every age group.  In 1984, she became Assistant Center Director at the Arlene B. Walter Center.  In 1995, Sue transferred to the Bellin Health Center as the Director of Center Operations.  Since 2005, she has been the Center Director at the De Pere Center.  Sue has a passion for children and for helping all the children she comes in contact with to be as successful as they possibly can be.

    
   


Kathy Van Boxtel

Kathy joined Encompass in June of 2007.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Early Childhood Education from UW-Green Bay.  Her background includes teaching and directing in early childhood programs, and seven years at the local child care resource and referral agency.  Encompass' commitment to providing children the best possible early education and care is what brought Kathy back to the early childhood setting. 

    
   

Janet Mincks

Janet graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood.  She started with Encompass as a Teacher at the Ruth Helf Family Center in 1984.  In August of 1988, she became the Director at the Lois Mahoney Center, which has since been replaced by The Cornerstone Center.  Janet transferred to The Rosebush Center when it opened in 1995.   Janet has completed a Director Mentor Program through T.E.A.C.H., an early childhood education program.  She is currently enrolled in the Administrators Credential through the University of Milwaukee.  Janet has also co-chaired several activities for the Big Event for Little Kids. 

    
   

Erin Prellwitz

Erin has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with emphases in Child & Family Studies and Social Work.  She is currently pursuing the Early Childhood Administrator Credential at NWTC.  Erin has been employed at Encompass since 2004 and has over five years of prior experience in the early childhood profession.

    
   


 

    
   



Laura Fenendael

Laura has been in the early childhood field since 1988 and with Encompass since 1997 as the Center Director of Operations at the Rosebush Center.  She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education as well as the Wisconsin Professional Credential for Child Care Administrators.  Her experience has been working directly with young children in a variety of early childhood settings as well as directing.  Laura's passion is young children and making sure that quality care is provided for the children under her care.  Another part of Laura's life is helping families in need and being at Encompass helps her fulfill that goal.

    
   

Mike Bentz
Facilities Manager

Mike has been with Encompass since 1980 and is very proud of the modern and updated facilities at Encompass.  All of the Encompass buildings that provide care for children are security locked and coded to maintain a more secure atmosphere for the children and to assure parents that their children are safe.  In the Facilities Maintenance Department, Mike and his staff work diligently to ensure that Encompass' buildings meet all codes mandated by the state.  This is an ongoing process.  Mike and the whole maintenance staff are proud of the high standards Encompass has to keep its facilities in the best condition possible.

    
   

Debbie Foss

Debbie is a graduate of UW-Green Bay with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development.  She began her career with Encompass in 1996 as a Teacher at the Arlene B. Walter Center.  In 1997, she transferred to the Ruth Helf Family Center where she works in conjunction with Brown County Human Services to provide quality parenting groups and individual parenting classes to those referred by the courts.  Debbie and her staff also supervise court ordered family visitations at the Ruth Helf Family Center.  As a avid advocate for children and parents, Debbie's foremost concern is for the future and welfare of all families.  She values working with families and providing continued support.

    
   

Dawn Rose
Dietary Director

Dawn graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor's Degree in Food Service and also obtained a Dietary Manager Degree from NWTC.  She began working at Encompass in June of 2000 as Dietary Director.  Her responsibilities include meal preparation, food ordering, menu planning, USDA site visits, administrative work, and many other duties.  Dawn's chief goal is to ensure proper diet and nutrition for the children of Encompass.

    
   

Katharine Kulkoski
Foster Grandparent/Volunteer Coordinator

Katharine joined Encompass in November of 2007 as the Foster Grandparent and Volunteer Coordinator.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy with an emphasis in Music and Psychology from Loyola University.  Her background includes music therapy in school and nursing home settings and program coordination including the Title V Senior Employment Program.  The Foster Grandparent Program keeps senior citizens involved and young at heart, while allowing for an inter-generational learning experience in the centers.  The program allows Encompass to be a workplace where children, teachers, center directors and senior citizens share their caring, expertise and daily routines in the same facility.

 

    
    Denise Roman
Events Fundraising Coordinator

Denise is the Events Fundraising Coordinator. She first joined Encompass in 1999, serving as the Community Outreach Specialist for the Centers of Excellence.  Denise remained in this position until grant funding ended in June of 2001.  She rejoined Encompass in September of 2005.  Her main duties are organizing The Big Event for Little Kids and Oktoberfest.  Denise's background is in Business and Marketing.

    
   

Judy Burkel

Judy joined the staff at Encompass in 2003.  She read a copy of the Encompass values and was inspired to change careers after 20 years.  Judy always felt the need to do something that would make life better for others.  She is fulfilling that dream by knowing the work she does every day, in some small way, touches the lives of the children and families that Encompass serves.
